Inflight Training Courseware Developer

To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable professional to join our team as the inflight training courseware developer. This position develops, designs, implements, and revises the flight attendant safety and regulatory training curricula to ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations. The successful candidate has previous airline experience, excellent skills in organization and project management, and is proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. This position reports to the Assistant Manager, Inflight Technology and Training.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Develop, design, implement, and revise the flight attendant safety and regulatory training curricula to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and other government regulations
  • Continuously monitor and update curriculum content for accuracy and alignment with company standards across all training programs
  • Provide technical and procedural guidance to flight attendant instructors on training topics and issues
  • Develop and support annual inflight training ground instructor (ITGI) and air transportation supervisor (ATS) training
  • Conduct classroom audits to monitor training programs and outcomes
  • Promote and communicate safety information throughout the organization
  • Offer continuous support to inflight instructors for clarification on company policies, procedures, training materials etc.
  • Uphold an exceptional performance record

 

Job Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Previous airline experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of demonstrated instructional courseware content and assessment experience
  • Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and activities independently and work in a team environment
  • Ability to research and develop subject matter expertise quickly over a wide range of topics
  • Ability to use computer software to create interactive and responsive content, design manuals, develop participant guides, presentations, and other correspondences
  • Skills in effective communication through the exchange of information and ideas in ways that promote mutual understanding and effective decision-making
  • Ability to adapt and respond to changes in the industry, environment, or organization and take constructive steps to address them in the training programs

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Education, or related field
  • Teaching and/or instructor experience
  • Flight attendant experience
  • Flight attendant training experience
  • Experience in applying adult learning theories and techniques
  • Experience and working knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 8900.1
  • Experience with learning management systems

 

Work Environment:

  • Standard classroom environment, use of whiteboards, projectors, and other classroom equipment 
  • Standard office environment, use of telephones, computers, and other office equipment
  • Travel: This position may require travel to different locations for training sessions, workshops, or conferences. Candidates should be prepared to travel as needed to fulfill job duties
  • Work Hours: While this role typically follows standard office hours, flexibility is required. There may be occasions where non-standard hours are necessary to accommodate training schedules, project deadlines, or other departmental needs. This includes early mornings, evenings, and possibly weekends/holidays.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
