Elementary Teacher
An avid learner, skilled communicator, and enthusiastic classroom presence, the Lower Elementary Teacher leads a 6-9 year old mixed-age learning community using the Montessori method in the prepared classroom. In the Montessori classroom, teachers use hands-on materials, small group lessons and differentiated instruction to provide an optimal, student centered learning environment where students are supported in reaching their full potential and developing a lifelong love of learning.
Teachers ensure that students are meeting North Carolina Standards within the Montessori framework. Elementary teachers meet weekly with Instructional Coach for ongoing support and coaching. MMCS also provides time for educators to meet in Professional Learning Communities each Friday from 1:00 pm – 3:45 pm.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with focus in Education
- Montessori Certification or willingness to complete 4-week Montessori training program this summer (July 8-August 1st) in Southern Pines, NC.
