Essential Job Functions:
Purpose: To create a professional practice image by ensuring the highest level of patient care; to work with the professional staff and ensure patient satisfaction. The selected individual should be a team player, possess strong independent problem-solving skills and demonstrate an attitude of cooperation and positive rapport with management, office staff, patients, physicians, other health professionals, and community members.
The qualified individual should have a strong professional demeanor and possess effective interpersonal skills. The individual must also be able to perform the physical demands of the position, including coordination and visual concentration necessary to administer treatments. The individual must spend much of the day standing, walking and moving.
- Exceptional patient, healthcare provider and staff relationships
- Supervise scheduling of patients for evaluations and treatment in coordination with the front desk staff
- Practice PT consistent with the APTA Code of Ethics
- Maintain professional license
- Maintain up to date techniques and trends in physical therapy
- Coordinate patient care with a licensed PTA and supervise accordingly
- Supervise the PT Tech with regard to patient care and clinical issues
- Ensure that patients are scheduled and seen for a re-evaluation every 30 days
- Ensure that patient notes are completed on a daily basis – before leaving for the day – notes must be neat, legible and organized and written in compliance with corporate guidelines – Evaluations, Re-evaluations, daily notes, discharges
- Must maintain a patient caseload under the guidelines set up by the Clinical Director
- Report all patient related issues to the Clinical Director
- Ensure that all clinical equipment is maintained and in proper working to ensure patient safety
- Perform daily equipment checks – report any problems to Director
- Assist in maintaining all equipment – ensure inspections are scheduled at regular intervals
- Assist in cleaning all gym equipment daily
- Ensure that the gym is consistently clean and free from hazards
- Ensure that all treatment rooms are clean and well stocked
- Ensure that laundry is consistently done and stocked accordingly
- In coordination with the PT Tech, make calls to patients – follow-up on treatment
- Assist in tracking patient information – return to Dr. dates, benefit information
- Assist front desk and PT Tech in calling patients who have not shown for appointments
- Assist Director in meeting Corporate Compliance – Medicare Compliance
- Assist and supervise student physical therapists and new professional staff
- Attend and participate in all staff meetings
- Assist in the marketing of clinical services
- Assist in the performance of home care under the terms set up with the home health agencies
- Ability to travel to other company owned clinics as necessary to meet the needs of the patients and company
- Work with the Director to ensure quality assurance and patient satisfaction
- Meet with Director as necessary to discuss patient care and other clinical issues
- Specific tasks and other related duties as requested and/or assigned by the Director.
Requires Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college; CPR Certified
