Teaching & Learning Facilitator - Curriculum and Instruction

Information specific to this position: Visual Arts Facilitator Responsibilities include:

  • Curriculum Development: -Develop, review, and enhance K-12 visual arts curriculum to align with state standards,educational goals, and district objectives.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure the curriculum meets the diverse needs of ourstudents.
  • Professional Development: -Provide ongoing professional development opportunities and studio art workshops for visual arts teachers to enhance their instructional strategies, content knowledge, and assessment practices.
  • Stay current with educational trends and advancements in visual arts education, integrating best practices into professional development programs.
  • Instructional Support: -Offer guidance and support to visual arts teachers in implementing effective teaching methods, utilizing technology, student agency and creating a positive and inclusive
    classroom environment.
  • Visit classrooms, offer constructive feedback, and facilitate collaborative learning communities among visual arts educators.
  • Community Engagement: -Foster partnerships with local artists, museums, and cultural organizations to enhance the visual arts program and provide real-world connections for students.
  • Organizations and community partners particular to PSD and the visual arts; CAEA-Colorado Art Education Association, TAB-Teaching for Artistic Behavior, NAEA-National Art Education Association, GAMA-CSU Gregory Allicar Museum, MoAMuseum of Art Fort Collins, CDE Art Think Tank.
  • Organize and participate in community art events, exhibitions, and showcases to celebrate student achievements in the visual arts.
  • District-Wide Art Exhibitions: -Plan and coordinate 3-4 district-wide art exhibitions to showcase the creative process and talent of students across all grade levels. 
     
  • Collaborate with art teachers and community partners to select venues, curate artwork, and organize exhibition logistics. -Implement strategies to engage families and the community in attending and supporting these exhibitions.
  • Resource Management: - Work with the curriculum art budget to manage resources to support teachers, the visual arts curriculum, equipment repair costs and art show expenses.
  • Explore and secure grants and other funding opportunities to enhance the visual arts program.

 

Percentage: 100%

 

Work calendar days: 188 days plus a 20 day contract extension 

 

Duration of position: Ongoing
