What You’ll Do
- Enthusiastically participate in the Atlas Teaching Fellow program designed to improve one’s teaching craft through intentional learning, observation, and practice
- Teach under the guidance of exemplary teachers and instructional coaches
- Receive, retain, and apply feedback and guidance given from various coaching parties
- Carry out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the assigned lesson plan(s)
- Develop meaningful relationships with and make a tangible impact on the minds and lives of students
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom
- Take attendance in accordance with school procedures
- Indicate to students at the beginning of class what the basic expectations are for behavior in accordance with Atlas Preparatory School policies
- Ensure that students are never left unattended in the classroom
- Maintain familiarity with emergency evacuation routes for the classrooms assigned
- Be knowledgeable in the procedures for referring students with disciplinary problems
- Be consistently aware of School procedures and regulations
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Compensation & Schedule
- Salaried/Exempt
- Annual Salary $35,000
- Full Time; Monday – Friday; Occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Annual Calendar and Start Date
- 212 working days
- Please note this includes 3 days of orientation for new staff. Following years will consist of only 209 work days.

Who You Are
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to successfully pass required background screening
- A desire to become a full-time classroom/qualified teacher
- Ability to take feedback well and quickly implement changes
- Commitment and complete belief in the Atlas mission
- Demonstrated maturity, humility, self-reflection, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in the face of competing demands and external pressures
Essential Job Functions
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed.
- Must be able to successfully abide by all policies and procedures of Atlas Preparatory School
