PURPOSE OF POSITION: The purpose of this position is to assess, diagnose and treat children from birth-22 years of age, focusing on facilitating strength, range of motion, positioning, balance strategies, transitional skills, gait and overall independent functional mobility for our pediatric clients as well as orthotic and adaptive equipment implementation when necessary.

OVERTIME STATUS: Non Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $82,000 - $107,000/ Yr

Depending on Experience:

PT 0-5 Years $82,000- 88,000

PT 6-10 Years $89,000 - $97,000

PT 10+ Years $98,000 - $107,000

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Provide individualized physical therapy services to children with disabilities.
  • Evaluate and treat conditions related to genetic, developmental, neurological and orthopedic disorders.
  • Evaluates clients utilizing standardized assessments (such as the PDMS-2, BOT-2, GMFM, and CCITSN) and objective tests/measures.
  • Interprets evaluation findings to determine impairments and areas of need
  • Establishes goals and treatment plans based on the evaluation findings.
  • Implements the treatment plan through direct physical therapy sessions.
  • Prescribes home activity programs and utilizes parent coaching to continue motor skill training outside of physical therapy sessions.
  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the pediatric patients and their families.
  • Participates in individual education program (IEP) and Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings when necessary.
  • Functions as a team member and supports ongoing professional development through activities such as: mentoring and providing education to students/other professionals.
  • Responsible for maintaining current knowledge in changes related to scope of practice, coding/billing practices, compliant documentation.

MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current licensure by the Physical Therapy Board of California
  • CPR certification
  • Previous clinical experience in pediatrics (New grads: preferably at least some clinical pediatric experience)
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance
  • Pro-Act, CPI and/or CPR certification helpful
  • Working knowledge of standard business practices and procedures
  • Computer-literate; knowledge of standard company software applications, internet
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Problem-solving ability and proven accuracy with detailed information
  • Proficient written and verbal English language communication skills, including business writing and professional telephone manner
  • Reliability, dependability and flexibility
