Executive Recruiting Consultant

Job Summary:

 

The UGA Search Group is a specialized unit within UGA Human Resources.  The Executive Recruiting Consultant role is an executive recruiter position with the majority of time invested in communication with prospective executive-level talent. The position duties include placing phone calls to faculty, mid and senior level administrative leaders, and to senior staff with the goal of attracting visionary new talent to the University. This position will frequently interact with the senior leadership across the University of Georgia as well.

 

While candidate research/sourcing is predominantly produced by members of the Process Management Team, this role will also contribute to candidate research, at times in its entirety. The Executive Recruiting Consultant is a member of the Recruiting Team and the Search Group at large but is expected to work with full autonomy and individual accountability to manage their workload on a day to day basis.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

 

The Executive Recruiting Consultant is responsible for the active recruitment of top talent to the University within the UGA Search Group.  Active recruiting accounts for roughly 70% of this role with the majority of that time spent on the telephone in communication with prospective executive talent. This position makes numerous outbound calls to faculty, mid and senior level administrative leaders, and to senior staff. By developing a sound strategic recruitment strategy, and utilizing professionally mature communication skills in the active recruitment of these high level candidates, this role will assist in filling key contributor positions. These executive hires will have a major impact on the University. 

 

  • Research and identify qualified candidates through peer and aspirational institutions, position-specific associations, nominations, and subject matter experts.
  • Continuous outreach to top prospective talent through email, phone calls, and other strategic communications.
  • Cultivate a personal relationship of trust and support with candidates and maintain active communication throughout the life cycle of the search.
  • Ensure application materials and supplementary documents are received.
  • Provide executive consultation to candidates in preparation for the interview process.
  • Meet and interact with senior level faculty and administration throughout the search process to ensure strategy and goal alignment, provide recruitment information, and help facilitate search committee and interview meetings.
  • Escort candidates on campus and perform other duties in support of a successful search process.

  • Ability to provide high output of daily outbound calls.
  • Ability to deliver work on time, and to work effectively on an independent basis.
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service in an academic environment, project a positive attitude, ability to display professionally mature behavior in challenging situations.
  • Proficient ability in MS Word document creation, familiarity with MS Excel spreadsheets, email, and management report creation as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and a deep commitment to quality in all aspects of work.
