POSITION SUMMARY

Supports teachers and facilitates learning for students in a dual language, Spanish-English school with a primary focus on supporting the linguistic and literacy needs of second language learners. Supervises student conduct, instructs individual or small groups of students, supports school-wide assessment.  

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum one year of successful job-related experience
  • Work keys test or college credit equivalent
  • Must have high school diploma or GED

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Strong organizational, time management, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with computer technologies
  • Knowledge of the needs of students requiring remedial reading instruction
  • Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, students, parents
  • Ability to use diagnostic data to tailor instruction to meet the needs of the student(s)

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce instructional material planned and/or presented by classroom teacher. 
  • Assists with computer assignments and various classroom activities.  Supports individual student’s access to the curriculum (note taking, reading, assistive technology, etc.)
  • Administers tests and other assignments as assigned
  • Interacts with technology for data entry and instruction
  • Monitors students before, during or after school
  • Assists with lesson plans
  • Maintain communication with classroom teachers regarding student progress
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

COMPENSATION

  • Annual Salary Range $23,459.00 to $28,170.65 depending on experience and education.
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits.
  • Employer paid Life, Short Term Disability, and Accidental Death and Dismemberment.
  • Accrued Paid Leave at 8 hours per calendar month worked; Total 80 hours.
