Objectives of This Role: 

As the VP of Content, your primary objective is to lead our content development team in creating engaging, interactive, and educational materials that align with our mission and values. You will oversee the conceptualization, production, and delivery of content across various platforms, ensuring that it meets the needs of our target audience and drives engagement and retention.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that supports our mission and business objectives.
2. Lead a team of content creators, including writers, designers, and multimedia specialists, to produce high-quality educational materials.
3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product development, marketing, and sales teams, to identify content needs and priorities.
4. Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, topics, and technologies in education and children's media.
5. Oversee the production process, from initial concept development to final delivery, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
6. Establish editorial standards, guidelines, and best practices to maintain consistency and quality across all content.
7. Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of content initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
8. Stay up to date on industry developments and innovations in content creation, instructional design, and educational technology.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in education, English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in content development, preferably in an educational or children's media environment.
3. Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and multiple projects simultaneously.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for storytelling and creative expression.
5. Proficiency in digital content creation tools and platforms, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar software.
6. Knowledge of instructional design principles and best practices for educational content development.
7. Familiarity with children's learning styles, developmental stages, and educational standards.
8. Ability to think strategically and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

1. Master's degree in education, Educational Technology, or a related field.
2. Experience working with educational publishers, e-learning platforms, or educational technology companies.
3. Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in educational content creation, including gamification, virtual reality, and interactive media.
4. Familiarity with SEO principles and content optimization techniques.
5. Experience with project management tools, such as Asana, Trello, or Jira.
6. Passion for education and a commitment to improving learning outcomes for children worldwide.
