What You’ll Do

As an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer you will be responsible for design and implementation of new electrical and instrumentation, IT/OT and automation requirements for new projects as well as supporting the maintenance group with maintaining and updating existing electrical & instrumentation, ICT network and IT/Phone systems and documentation to ensure plant processes operate in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and Implement Solutions: Create electrical and instrumentation solutions for capital and expense projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines. This involves managing contractors, procuring parts, configuring instrumentation and electrical components, and generating necessary documentation.
  • IT/OT Oversight: Supervise the site’s IT/OT systems and offer backup support for the DCS engineer.
  • Work Package Preparation: Assemble comprehensive electrical and instrumentation work packages suitable for contractor bidding or internal maintenance installation.
  • Field Guidance: Provide on-site guidance during the installation of design modifications.
  • Commissioning Support: Assist with commissioning and startup of new installations.
  • Maintenance Troubleshooting: Support maintenance by troubleshooting field instrumentation, electrical systems, panels, and PLCs.

 

You bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 3+ year experience in oil & gas / chemical / food & beverage industries
  • Electrical system design for PSM regulated chemical operating facilities
  • General knowledge for industrial network design and related codes
  • In-depth knowledge of both the low voltage and high voltage electrical system design and its maintenance
  • Previous experience of ICT and I&E components, such as network switches, instruments, motors and motor control, variable frequency drives, PLC/DCS, electrical power distribution devices
