Summary of Position: Provides assessment and treatment to children, adolescents and adults impacted by trauma in our five county service area.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Required Education:
- Master’s Degree in Psychology/Counseling; or
- Master’s Degree in Social Work
- Required Licenses (one of the following):
- Licensed Professional Counselor or LPC-Associate License; or
- If LPC-A, requirement to attend weekly supervision with LPC-Supervisor as part of LPC Board standards (LPC Supervisor will be providing supervision onsite)
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker
- Licensed Master Social Worker
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
- Training:
- Expectation to complete online 11-hour Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy training within first month of employment
- Expectation to complete TF-CBT in-classroom training within first 6 months of employment (two 3-day online or in-person trainings provided by CACTX).
- Expectation to complete monthly TF-CBT Consultation Calls for 12 months after TF-CBT training is done (to complete 40 hours of evidence-based trauma-focused training).
- HCCAC will cover all training costs.
- Experience:
- Completion of graduate internship
- Work experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents
- Work experience (internship or other) with trauma preferred
- Knowledge
- Knowledge of Cognitive Behavior Therapy
- Knowledge of Play Therapy
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows 10, Word, Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge in documentation of mental health clinical progress
- Intellectual and Physical Requirements
- Read, write and speak English fluently
- Bending, stooping, reaching and other movement required in dealing with children. Lifting of office materials (up to 20 lbs.)
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
OTHER INFORMATION:
- 36 hour work week of Monday-Thursday from 8:00-5:00.

- This position includes some travel to provide services in outreach offices over our five county service area (Blanco, Burnet, Lampasas, Llano and San Saba).

- Employment dependent upon the completion of background check, including criminal and DFPS clearances.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct psychosocial and/or trauma-specific assessments.
- Assess client functioning and develop treatment plan within 30 days that is to be periodically reviewed.
- Provide individual, group, parenting and family therapy to clientele at outreach offices.
- Provide crisis assessment as needed.
- Maintain case files including assessment results, session case notes, treatment plans, telephone contacts and termination summaries.
- Prepare and present cases for clinical review.
- Coordinate with Supervisor on all cases.
- Comply with Mental Health Policies and Procedures.
- Assist Supervisor in preparing monthly Mental Health Services report.
- Participate in scheduled case staffing and those held on an as-needed basis.
- Collaborate and provide consultation to Multi-Disciplinary Team members.
- Maintain good standing with the State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors
