Director of Athletics and Physical Education

Salary:

• $97,385 - $108,087
• Plus a one time $2000 Recruitment Stipend to be paid in October 2024

Work Duration: 

• 240 Days
• 7.5 Hours

Responsibilities:

• Recommends additions and alterations to school playgrounds, athletic fields, and
  gymnasiums.
• Coordinates and supervises the district's health and physical education programs.
• Attends, supports, and evaluates athletic events including competitions and awards
  ceremonies.
• Coordinates and supervises the summer worker program.
• Consults with school administration/personnel in areas of coaching expectations, facility needs, athletic equipment, etc.
• Works with school administration, St. Charles Parish Recreation, and athletic associations to improve and promote athletics.
• Facilitates the operation of school athletic directors and athletic coordinators.
• Organizes and administers with principals and coaches the overall program of co-curricular athletics for the district.

Certification / Requirements:

• Has a Bachelor's of Arts or Science
• Possesses a type B or Level 2 Louisiana Teaching Certification
• Has 5 years of successful experience in teaching, coaching, and coordinating athletic events
• Possesses the ability to organize, administer, and communicate effectively
