Reports to: School Principal 

Supervises: None

Term of Employment: 10 months 

Salary: NC Teacher Salary Local supplement + Salary supplement between $10,000-$14,000 Exempt 

Qualifications:

• Have three or more years of teaching experience and a current teaching license. 

• Current North Carolina teaching applicants must have a rating of proficient or above in all 5 standards in the North Carolina Education Effectiveness System. o Applicants must have a "superior teaching performance" rating of accomplished or distinguished in 3 of 5 standards on the most recent NCEES evaluation. o Standard 4 must be rated accomplished or distinguished. 

• Out of state applicants must submit their most recent classroom evaluation and a narrative describing their performance. 

• Provide data that demonstrates a proven track record of high growth in student achievement for the past 2-4 years. 

Essential Duties:

• The Multi-Classroom Leader (MCL) leads a team of teachers and provides instruction in various ways to their teaching team's students. 

• MCLs can be partial-release, meaning they maintain a classroom of record while extending reach to the entire team's student population.

• The MCL sets team goals and organizes the team to fit each teacher's strengths, content knowledge, and professional development goals. 

• Establish methods and create instructional tools and materials that team teachers use in all classrooms. 

• Lead team to: align all lessons, activities and assessments; design instruction that is enriched (developing higher order thinking skills) and personalized (reflecting learning levels and interests of individual students); design assessments that accurately assess student progress. 

• Possess the competencies necessary to achieve results, despite obstacles, lead and develop other adults, and effectively work with people who have differing cultural backgrounds and/or personal characteristics. o Candidates must meet or exceed growth with an EVAAS score above 0. o If EVAAS data is not available, teachers may provide other forms of assessment data to show a positive impact on student achievement (nationally normed, standardized, or formative). o If an applicant does not teach students directly, they must demonstrate that the students and/or teachers they supported "met or exceeded" growth by submitting relevant student data based on your role. Roles may include instructional coaches/facilitators. An example, if a candidate was a school-wide instructional coach for math, then they would submit the entire school's math growth data as part of their data submission. o Competencies will be assessed via supervisor/coworker recommendations and the Competency Interview. Multi-Classroom Leader (MCL) - Elementary/Middle/High Physical and Cognitive Requirements: 

The major physical and cognitive requirements listed below are applicable to this job classification within Moore County Schools. Work in this classification is considered light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects. Must be able to: 

• prepare, read and comprehend a variety of job related forms, reports, spreadsheets, maps, plans, records, documentation and correspondence in all languages required by the job 

• understand and conform to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style • speak to individuals or groups of people with poise, voice control and confidence • respond adequately to inquiries or complaints 

• write using standard convention in all languages required by the job • apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions 

• apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form • communicate effectively and efficiently in all languages required by the job using whatever communication device or system is required (telephone, Braille) 

• use/interpret job related terminology, mathematical formulas and functions effectively and efficiently 

• deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions 

• perform under stress, deal with persons acting under stress and adapt when confronted with emergency situations 

• be sensitive to cultural differences among individuals and groups of persons • operate a motor vehicle 

• operate/use a variety of automated office machines and other office equipment • operate/use a variety of printing/graphic arts machines • operate/use a variety of audiovisual/electronic machines and devices • operate/use a variety of communication machines/equipment/devices 

• operate/use a variety of job specific machines/equipment 

• Incorporate small-group and individual instruction to personalize and tailor instruction to individual needs. 

• Additional responsibilities include observing, giving feedback and coaching; co-teaching and modeling lessons for team teachers, leading co-planning and analyzing data for the team teaching students directly. 

• The MCL team will be held formally accountable for their team leadership and for the student results for each teacher whom they support. • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
