Parole Officer I-Institutional Parole Officer

Performs routine parole administration work. Work involves providing supervision to inmates; conducting parole investigations; and obtaining information for and preparing parole administration documentation. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE). Major course work in Criminal Justice, Counseling, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.

 2. Two years full-time, wage-earning parole officer experience with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice or Board of Pardons and Paroles. 

3. Computer operations experience preferred.

 4. Must have a valid state driver license.

 Must maintain valid license(s) for continued employment in position.

 * Must have or be able to obtain a certificate of course completion for the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS) policy and procedures training from the Texas Department of Public Safety within six months of employment date.
