Job Summary

 

The Director of Employee Success will direct and lead Employee Relations and Benefits/Wellness initiatives that foster employee engagement to positively impact the well-being, motivation, and satisfaction of Georgia Southern University's workforce. Additionally, the Director will develop, implement, and supervise programs and services consistent with the University's mission and strategic objectives.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Create and execute initiatives to enhance employee morale, motivation, and overall job satisfaction

• Design and implement programs that promote a positive workplace culture

• Lead and direct employee wellness initiatives to promote workplace wellness and engagement

• Develop and implement communication strategies to keep employees informed about Georgia Southern University policies, changes, and updates

• Effectively address employee and manager concerns and gather feedback

• Oversee and manage the employee relations team, providing leadership and guidance while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations

• Advise and support Academic Affairs in employment concerns related to contract faculty

• Develop, review, and update HR policies as needed and serve on the University's Policy Review Committee

• Implement metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of employee engagement and relations initiatives and use data to identify trends and areas for improvement

• Provide employee counseling on benefits offerings, retirement, leave options, workplace accommodations, etc.

 

Required Qualifications

 

Educational Requirements

 

• Bachelor's Degree in related field and Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources with three (3) or more of those years in employee relations, including investigation and resolution of ongoing employee relations issues

 

OR

 

• SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification and Eight (8) or more years of related work experience with three (3) or more of those years being in employee relations, including investigation and resolution of ongoing employee relations issues

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

Preferred Education

 

• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification

 

Preferred Experience

 

• Knowledge of employment laws, specifically related to FLSA, EEO, FMLA and ADA Supervision of benefits and/or employee relations professionals

• Experience working in Higher Education Experience working in the University System of Georgia

 

Proposed Salary

 

$71,500 - $95,900

 

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
