Associate Risk Analyst

Summary:
The Associate Risk Analyst supports various trade desks at Energy Transfer by performing business analytics and measuring exposure to commodity prices. There is opportunity to Interact with traders and senior management- assuring that pricing, hedging, and risk evaluation techniques are applied and monitored.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

·        Monitor, measure, and report market price risks on a daily basis relating to price-exposure from company assets and long-term contracts, wholesale physical energy transactions, inventory, and financial derivatives
·        Determine market-price risk positions and work with trade desks to minimize exposure
·        Validate end-of-day curves in the risk system and mark-to-market of forward positions
·        Analyze and identify P&L and position drivers of various trading books encompassing a wide array of energy commodities and financial instruments
·        Identifies and resolves issues on daily position and P&L reporting
·        Communicate and resolve risk limit breaches appropriately
·        Support requests from internal and external auditors
·        Maintain margin requirements with clearing banks
·        Work closely with I.T. on risk system (ETRM) improvements and testing new enhancements
·        Ensure exchange (ICE & CME) and regulatory (CFTC & FERC) compliance
 
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
·         Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, mathematics, or related field
·        Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Preferred Qualifications:
·         Self-starter with ability to work with limited supervision
·         Strong interpersonal communication ability
·         Love of learning
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
·        Usually, normal office working conditions. 
·        Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing. 
·        Occasional overnight travel may be required. 
·        Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
