School Library Media Specialist at Harry Hurst Middle School

Salary:

  • $60,000-80,800
  • *Plus a $2000 Retention Stipend to be paid in October

Work Duration: 

  • Nine (9) months
  • 183 Days
  • 7.5 hours / day

Responsibilities:

  • Setting rigorous yet appropriate learning outcomes
  • Establishing supportive relationships with students
  • Engaging students in meaningful, developmentally appropriate, real-world discussions and learning activities
  • Develop authentic and aligned activities and assessments to measure student growth and inform instructional decisions
  • Planning and collaborating with all teachers/staff members to develop class and/or school-based initiatives that encourage student exploration, research, and creativity as well as expose students to current and developmentally appropriate fiction and non-fiction text
  • Collaboratively work with team members to fulfill the mission, vision, and beliefs of both the school and the District
  • Serve as an ambassador of St. Charles Parish Public Schools through all forms of professional communication

Certification / Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree
  • Must be Louisiana certified; type `A,' `B' OR `C' - OR- LEVEL 1, 2 OR 3
  • Must hold Ancillary Certification as a Library Media Specialist
