Senior Product Technician

Job Description

 

Position Title:  Senior Product Technician

Answers To:  CEO, CTO, & COO

 

Summary:  Assists project engineers with all aspects of the project from proposal to final report for assigned project by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

 

Assists with the preparation of estimates, cost reports, forecasts, schedules, account codes, budgets, and change orders.

 

Coordinates quantity estimates by obtaining and analyzing data on unit labor costs and unit material costs.

 

Updates estimates, schedules, reports, and documents based on revisions and changes to the project.

 

Assists with preparation of final project reports including obtaining historical data and information.

 

Conducts a quality check of all documents and reports, verifying accuracy of data, information, and calculations.

 

Assists in preparing and maintaining the departmental policies, procedures, and manuals.

Track lab supply inventory

Maintain MSDS Documentation

Document work procedures for loading macros and carry out work. 

Document work procedures for calibrating electronics and carry out work

Document work procedures for assembling components and carry out work (e.g. sensor builds, assembly of electronics and enclosures)

Keep track of work procedure documents

Open and close laboratory

Keep laboratory organized and clean

Ensure safe work area in laboratory

Conduct experiments provided by engineers

Monitor, record, and evaluate experiment and test data

Evaluate products and provide customer support

Provide assistance in other areas of the company when required

 

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability: 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills: 

Microsoft Office, Keyboarding, Adobe. 

 

Certificates and Licenses: 

No certifications needed

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

Supervise Technician Levels I-II.
