Job Title: Math Tutor (K-12) - Saturday
Location: Sylvan Learning Center, Whitestone
Job Type: Part-Time (Saturdays)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About Us:
Sylvan learning is a well-established educational center dedicated to helping students achieve academic success. We provide personalized tutoring services for students in grades K-12, specializing in math and other subjects. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Math Tutor to join our team on Saturdays and make a positive impact on students' learning.

Position Overview:
As a Math Tutor at Sylvan Learning, you will work with students in one-on-three or one -on-one setting to help them improve their math skills. You will be responsible for assessing students’ needs, providing targeted instruction, and creating a supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate is patient, engaging, and able to explain math concepts clearly to students of all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide math tutoring for students in grades K-12 (covering topics from elementary math to high school algebra, geometry, calculus, and SAT).
  • Assess students' strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Encourage and motivate students to achieve their academic goals.
  • Track and report on student progress.
  • Maintain a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience in math.
  • Strong knowledge of K-12 math curriculum (from elementary through high school).
  • Ability to explain complex math concepts in a simple and engaging way.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching.
  • Availability to work Saturdays. (weekday schedule available as well)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students of various learning abilities.
  • Familiarity with Common Core and other relevant educational standards.
  • Previous experience in a learning center or tutoring environment is a plus.

Job Types: Part-time, Internship

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 – 5 per week
