At Music Lessons Arizona, our mission is to guide each child from a complete beginner, with no prior piano experience, to confidently performing standard classical repertoire on a grand piano before a live audience.

We offer our students the chance to excel in piano competitions at local, statewide, national, and international levels. These competitions are sanctioned by esteemed organizations such as the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), East Valley Music Teachers Association (EVMTA), Arizona State Music Teachers Association (ASMTA), Music Through the Centuries, and San Francisco International Piano Competition, both renowned on the international stage.

Additionally, we assist students in achieving robust academic accreditation through the esteemed Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), based in the United Kingdom. ABRSM, one of the five examination boards accredited by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual), bestows graded exams and diploma qualifications in music within the UK's National Qualifications Framework. Ofqual, often referred to as the exam "watchdog," ensures rigorous standards in qualifications, exams, and tests across England.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Proven experience with scheduling and resource management

- Proficient in commonly used software programs: Word, powerpoint, etc. (40 wpm)

- Customer service/service industry experience

- 10 years of formal classical piano training

- At least 4 years of piano teaching experience

- Fluency in reading standard music notation

- Experience working with children, have love and compassion for them

- Computer/technology literate

- Reliable, punctual, professional, and dependable

- Eligible to work in the USA

- Have dependable transportation

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Teach proper piano playing technique, standard notation reading skills, rhythm counting, music history, and music theory

- Work mostly with beginner and intermediate-level students

- Exhibit a positive and energetic attitude when working with students

 

POSITION DETAILS:

This role involves a piano instructor with at least 10 years of formal classical training, familiarity with standard classical repertoire, performance experience, and a passion for working with children. At least 4 years of teaching experience is required, familiar with rote teaching is preferred. You will be teaching our specific methodologies to students, guided by our established curriculum. As a Music Instructor, you will report to the Owner, Sherin, and collaborate with fellow instructors. Hours are typically 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday to Thursday, with some variation by season. The compensation starts at $43 per hour DOE, including bonuses.
