CRNA Faculty position DNP Program Rhode Island College Narragansett Bay Anesthesia (NBA) Providence RI; 15k/ semester for 1099

St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia/ Rhode Island College is seeking a part-time faculty member for its DNP Nurse Anesthesia Program. The faculty member would be responsible for teaching anesthesia-specific courses including planning, sequencing, coordination of guest speakers, composing examinations, grading, and evaluation. Exams are administered on campus and may be proctored by on-site faculty or staff members. Courses may be taught remotely, hybrid, or in-person format, depending on faculty location however, preference will be given to candidates available to provide onsite teaching.

Additional duties include being an advisor for DNP capstone projects and participating in the admissions process. The Nursing Education Center at Rhode Island College has a state-of-the-art simulation lab, including a dedicated OR suite which would be available for faculty to incorporate into their course content. 

This role requires demonstrated knowledge of evidenced-based nurse anesthesia practice and preference would be given to candidates with at least three years direct patient care experience as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). The applicant must be able to work collaboratively with the other faculty and staff members. Other requirements include:

  • Earned doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited institution
  • Certification as a CRNA through the NBCRNA
  • Active CRNA license in any state
  • Three years direct patient experience preferred
  • Teaching experience preferred

This position is offered as a part-time faculty-only 1099
