Entry-Level Civil Engineer/CAD Designer

Falcon Design Consultants is currently looking for an entry-level Civil Engineer/CAD Designer to join our team. Organization, communication, and design skills will be essential to efficiently produce quality outputs while meeting budgets and schedules on multiple concurrent projects.

Responsibilities will include providing CAD support on a wide variety of engineering projects.

The CAD Designer will be fluent in Civil 3D design functions such as working with surfaces, horizontal and vertical alignments, corridors, cross sections, grading objects, and feature lines so as to develop civil drawings for all phases of the engineering design. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Work closely with senior project engineers to develop civil drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D for a variety of civil and environmental applications, including permitting, construction details, and stormwater management. Design services shall include concept-level to final design
  • Preparation of conceptual drawings, final construction level drawings, detail sheets, cross-sections, site grading and cut/fill calculations, and as built/record drawings.
  • Revise or prepare drawings with neatness and a minimum of errors.
  • Assist in the gathering of survey information and the development of plans and maps from field notes.
  • Perform tasks such as digitizing, copying, and scanning of drawings, prints, and maps.
  • Self-check all work and check the work of others as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Qualified candidates will have an entry-level Civil Engineer/AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • 1-year minimum of demonstrated experience with AutoCAD & Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software, including, but not limited to, the development of horizontal and vertical alignments, grading, profiles, sections, quantities, surfaces, and knowledge of CAD Standards
  • Shall be familiar with the practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters in the following areas: Civil Engineering, Civil Site Design, Environmental Engineering, and Surveying.
