
Entry-Level Civil/Environmental Engineer

We are seeking an Entry-Level Civil/Environmental Engineer to support Carollo's vision of becoming the best water consulting firm in the United States. As part of our team, you will work on projects related to municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, including but not limited to major treatment plant expansions, regional water quality studies, and critical water reuse projects that will create sustainable and resilient water supplies for the world.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an engineer on the planning, design, construction, and/or commissioning of water and wastewater treatment projects of various sizes
- Perform data entry and analysis
- Perform system modeling, process calculations, and hydraulic calculations to size and select facilities
- Prepare cost estimates
- Perform permitting and alternatives analysis
- Prepare technical memoranda, reports, plans and specifications, and other deliverables
- Perform engineering services during construction, including but not limited to reviewing contractor submittals for conformance with contract plans and specifications and evaluating requests for information
- Coordinate the work of other engineering disciplines, designers, modelers, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments
- Participate in field activities, such as site visits, overseeing field work, and pilot testing
- Travel may be required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related engineering field
- EIT Certification or passed FE exam
- 0 - 4 years of experience in planning, design, and/or construction of water/wastewater treatment projects
- Ability to apply critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques to develop options and recommendations to solve technical problems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams
- Work well in a team environment
- Highly motivated and self-starting
- Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Familiarity with computer applications including ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and water and sewer hydraulic calculations/modeling software (WaterGEMS, InfoWater, InfoWorks ICM, InfoSWMM)
