Merchandise Apparel Allocator (Distributor) - maurices

Position Overview:

The Distributor is responsible for the execution of allocation strategies based on merchandise (women's apparel) assortment and inventory strategies resulting in delivering improved margin and a better customer experience. 

 

Performance requirements

 

Responsible for the timely allocation of product to stores.   

  • Proficient in using allocation system to manage purchase orders from initial allocation through the end-of-life cycle of merchandise, including replenishment and consolidation of goods to other stores or channel.
  • Manage overall store inventory levels based on store capacity, attributes, seasonality, size selling curves and channel balance needs
  • Executes the allocation strategy from monthly assortment review meetings which will effectively maximize the ability of each store to generate sales and margin
  • Ensure new and relocation stores are opened at the planned inventory levels and maintain an acceptable product mix from store opening through first year
  • Implement and maintain systems and procedures to improve allocation efficiency

 

Analysis (business, consolidations, transfers): 

  • Develop and maximize systems knowledge (RDW, Blue Yonder) and where to find necessary data for analysis and continuous improvement of allocations
  • Review information and draw conclusions from available reports
  • Create sound decisions based on the utilization of all available resources including systems
  • Identify risks/opportunities and propose solutions
  • Help create and maintain monthly assortments

 

Create and maintain strong partnerships (on order meetings, sharing info, department meetings):

Work Experience and education requirements

Education: 

  • High School education or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred (Business, Economics, Consumer Analytics)

 

Experience: 

  • Previous retail experience preferred

 

Skills: 

  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software technology.  
  • Ability to use MS office suite (excel, word, powerpoint, outlook)
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, and remain flexible
  • Attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

Our first preference will be for the candidate to be located, or willing to relocate to work in the Duluth, MN Corporate Office with a full-time, flexible/hybrid schedule.

 

The compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
