Job Summary
Work with our team of specialists to develop 2D & 3D construction documents for electronic security, telecommunications, and audio-visual systems (Low-Voltage System Design) using REVIT and AutoCAD. Responsibilities include identifying client requirements and developing a basis of design, schematic, concept and final construction documents (drawings and specifications) using applicable codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Electronic Security systems include access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, networks, duress alarm, intercommunications, screening, and perimeter protection.
- Telecommunications systems include telecommunication outlets, vertical and horizontal data cabling distribution system, protected distribution systems (PDS), layout of main and intermediate distribution facilities (MDF & IDF); outside plant (OSP) connectivity to the facility, and Data Center/ network architecture.
- Audiovisual systems include independent system and integrated distributed system including video displays, video teleconferencing, AV input/output, audio enhancement, and microphone enhancement design for board room, conference room, huddle room, and team room.
Primary Job Duties
- Work closely with our Senior Security/Telecom/Audio-Visual system designers and specialists.
- Provide onsite observations of the project site related to low-voltage systems to ascertain existing conditions.
- Meet with Owner/Client representatives to ascertain systems requirements, current practices, and applicable codes and standards.
- Prepare basis-of-design narrative to identify the functional requirement for the systems.
- Prepare 2D and 3D design documents to include drawings (device and equipment locations, system block diagrams, installation details), technical specifications (Division 27 & 28), manufacture equipment data sheets.
- Coordinate with other design disciplines floor plans, pathways, space, power, HVAC, grounding, and lighting protection requirements.
- Prepare meeting minutes and technical memorandums as required to support the project.
- Provide limited assistance to Cost Estimators.
- Participate in review meetings and respond to comments in writing.
- Prepare responses to Contractor requests for information (RFI).
- Review shop drawings, product data, equipment lists, or test data submitted by the system contractors.
- Inspect work in progress and completed work during construction period services. Prepare observation reports to document any deficiencies.
- Witness system commissioning, performance verification tests, or acceptance testing.
- Work with Sr Security Specialist and Project Manager on Risk Analysis and Risk Mitigation reports.
- Perform additional duties to support the team.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience.
- REVIT and AutoCAD experience preferred but not required.
- Some travel required, as deemed necessary by clients.
- Due to the secure nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
- Soft skills: Strong self-management skills, excellent communication abilities, digital literacy, the ability to work independently, effective time management, adaptability, and capable of interacting directly with clients.

Physical Demands
- Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

- Stand and sit for extended periods of time; push, pull and reach; occasionally bend, stoop and stretch
- Have the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity needed to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and dental equipment
