Ensures accurate and timely coding of patient services using CPT and ICD-10 transaction codes.
Manages billing processes, including submission through portals and clearinghouses.
Resolves billing and coding issues, ensuring compliance with Medicare and other third-party payers.
Audits patient accounts for accuracy and compliance.
Posts payments to patient accounts and distributes funds appropriately.
Conducts financial interviews for new admissions to explain billing processes and ensure proper account setup.
Credentialing of new providers to ensure accurate billing and compliance.
Researches and analyzes data to improve billing and coding operations.
Prepares and generates monthly billing statements.
Ensures statutory compliance by internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference will be given to candidates who have current coding credentials and experience with insurance billing, account management, computers, and Microsoft software.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10.
- Knowledge of billing portals/clearinghouses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance)
Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accounting Technician
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accounting Technician

Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The employee may sit comfortably to perform work, however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, etc.
NOTES:
- FLSA: Non-Exempt
- A background check, including fingerprinting, will be completed through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wyoming Department of Family Services and the F.B.I. for every successful applicant.
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions. Drug testing will be completed on any position if reasonable suspicion exists.
- A current Influenza Vaccination is required.
- The Wyoming State Hospital uses E-Verify, an Internet-based system, to confirm the eligibility of all newly hired employees to work in the United States.
- Employees of this facility will be expected to follow all rules and requirements established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding COVID-19.
