Entry/Junior Level Electrical Engineer – Capital Construction
Coalmont Electrical Development Corporation has an immediate need for an Entry/Junior Level Electrical Engineer at our Birmingham, Alabama facility.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Entry Level Electrical Engineer must have a sound fundamental knowledge of Electrical Engineering theory with a commitment to develop themselves into a Senior/Project Engineering role. The Electrical Engineer must be able to clearly communicate technical topics to both management and customers with leadership and integrity. The Electrical Engineer must be a self-starter, detail oriented and driven to manage personal and professional schedules in order to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality. This is a developmental position with a fast-paced Electrical and Mechanical Engineering company that has limitless opportunities to learn in an apprentice type environment with expected growth into a Senior Design and/or Project Engineering role.
Initial responsibilities may include: industrial electrical system design and schematic generation in AutoCAD Electrical, project management, scheduling, parts specification, procurement, industrial control system design, electrical equipment sizing and specification, electric code review and adherence, system testing, field troubleshooting, system energization and commissioning.
The successful candidate will be involved in substantial capital construction projects with immediate exposure to High/Medium/Low voltage distribution, power transformers, protection relaying & coordination, Electrical switchgear, electrical grounding systems, NEC/MSHA code, construction design & installation practices, and general project management.

Education, experience, and skills required for the position:
· Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
· Proven leadership abilities
· Excellent communication skills
· Self Starter motivated to gain real world experience
· The ability to get involved with the team and to search out opportunities to contribute without specific instruction.
· A fundamental understanding that experience and knowledge come through actions, struggle and self-imposed goals that push oneself to be better and therefore more valuable.
Education and experience preferred for the position:
AutoCAD or other CAD Software, PLC or Other programming, Industrial Electrical installation practices
· Knowledge of relevant standards NFPA, NEC
