Purpose Statement
Instructs students in general music. Allows for flexible scheduling to work with staff and building needs. Arranges and moves instruments, chairs and equipment as needed for each class. Plans programs that correlate to the curriculum. Often is a consultant assistant in music for classroom projects and performances. Instructs and rehearses some voluntary music ensembles.
Essential Functions
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in building and at the times performs in other buildings.
- Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and – in harmony with the goals – establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives of students.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Arranges and sets up classrooms.
- Maintains inventory of instruments and equipment.
- Plans and directs performances.
- Coordinates schedules with building staff.
- Travels between buildings when needed.

Education
Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Certification Requirements: Must be eligible for Wyoming teaching certificate endorsed in Music.
