Learning Center Director

Critical Objective:
Run the day-to-day operations of the center, grow center enrollments, and provide exceptional customer service.
Position Summary:
Mathnasium Center Directors are passionate about helping students learn math and achieve educational success. The ideal Center Director is ambitious, highly motivated, enthusiastic, warm, and caring. They have great leadership abilities that can inspire employees and build teamwork. As well as great management abilities that improve efficiency and drive profitability. Mathnasium Center Directors are capable of successfully managing the educational, customer, administrative, sales, and employee management aspects required to run a Mathnasium Learning Center. The Mathnasium Center Director is responsible for effectively balancing educational duties, such as administering assessments and diagnosing student learning gaps, administrative duties, such as creating student binders and keeping the center clean, sales duties, such as responding to leads and successfully enrolling customers, employee development/manager duties, such as proper scheduling and providing on-the-job training/coaching, and marketing duties such as networking with schools and the local community. A successful Center Director fosters a strong relationship with current and future clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understanding the strategic direction of the company, the target customer and the competitive landscape and translate that understanding into promoting the business.
- Fiscal management of the center, including achieving top line revenue target, managing labor and expenses according to company expectations.
- Selling the program in person, by email, and by phone; generating a steady stream of new enrollments.
- Participate in local marketing events, foster collaborative relationships with local schools and organizations.
- Strategic planning; evaluate center monthly performance metrics and implement effective measures to drive sales, improve team performance and enhance parent satisfaction.
- Recruit, select, train and develop high energy, highly engaged Instructors & support staff and build a high-performing team focused on quality education and service.
- Ensure the Mathnasium Method™ is utilized for all student instruction. Develop rapport with staff and create a fun learning environment.
- Conduct student assessments while creating and monitoring learning plans according to student’s mastery level.
- Meet with parents to review student’s progress throughout completion of their program.
- General business operations.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3+ years of related experience (education, sales, marketing) with a strong focus on customer service and building relationships.
- Educational experience and teaching credentials are a plus.
- Candidates should possess basic sales skills which include, rapport building, active listening, assessing customer needs, recommending/presenting, objection handling and closing.
- Highly organized; managing multiple, concurrent priorities/projects with accuracy and sense of urgency. Ability to prioritize, organize, plan and work under own initiative.
- Strong empathy, tact and diplomacy; interacts with and works cooperatively with students, parents and staff, demonstrating sensitivity and responsiveness to individual needs.
- Excellent verbal communication and persuasive skills, with ability to build relationships.
- Ability to analyze/interpret business reports and statistics, write reports and business correspondence.
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work during center hours 11AM-7:30PM (Mon-Thu) and 10AM-2PM (Sunday). Ability to work outside theses hours may be required, occasionally and during the summer.
