Program Referral Specialist

We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and motivated person to provide professional, courteous customer service to clients and provide information, referral, application assistance, and advocacy for Family Resource programs as well as other agency services and community resources.

Primary responsibilities of this full-time, hybrid position in our Waite Park office will include: 

*Understand the eligibility guidelines and application requirements for all Tri-CAP programs and services. 

*Answer incoming phone calls to answer questions, assess needs and provide appropriate referrals. 

*Meet with clients in person to assist with completion of program applications as needed and provide appropriate referrals and advocacy services. 

*Respond to email inquiries, chats and text messages related to program services through the website and other department needs. 

*Conduct follow-up activities- phone calls, mailings, advocacy services, etc. 

*Participate in outreach, marketing and enrollment activities for Family Resource programs.

*Attend outreach events in community to promote Tri-CAP services, as requested. 

 

Starting wage range is $18.88 – $22.66 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package, including paid holidays, PTO, health/dental/life insurance, employee assistance and 403b retirement savings match. We also invest in employee wellness and professional development! 

Qualifications:

*Two (2) years post-secondary education and one year of human services related experience OR equivalent combination 3 years education/experience.

*Demonstrated effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, excellent customer service skills. 

*Experience working with people in crisis and with diverse populations.

*Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook; data entry skills.

*Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well independently and stay on task.

*Reliable form of transportation.

*Knowledge of community resources, preferred.

*Bi-lingual (Spanish or Somali) preferred.
