Civil Engineer
The City of Wentzville is seeking a Civil Engineer to help maintain and improve city infrastructure. This position is responsible for engineering design, field investigations, plan reviews, contract administration, and project management. The ideal candidate will have specialized knowledge of engineering tools, methods, and techniques and will work under moderate supervision to support the city’s infrastructure needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review subdivision and commercial development plans to ensure compliance with city standards.
- Design, review, and manage infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, stormwater, transportation, and parks.
- Identify infrastructure maintenance needs and develop solutions for long-term improvements.
- Oversee design contracts and manage capital projects and public works initiatives.
- Evaluate and process permit applications for utility installations in city rights-of-way.
- Provide technical engineering expertise and problem-solving support for city infrastructure concerns.
- Address resident concerns by assessing infrastructure, recommending solutions, and coordinating with relevant departments.
- Monitor projects for safety concerns and suggest process improvements as needed.
