
Controls Technician
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Perform installation, start-ups, repairs, and overhauls of automated building control systems
· Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
· Keeps current all products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.
· Ability to interpret blueprints, project plans or other technical documents
· Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
· Build and Test Control Panels.
· Trouble-shooting and problem solving skills; able to diagnose problems (Electrical and Mechanical)
· Installation of a multitude of control devices efficiently, including conduit systems (EMT, GRC, PVC, etc.) copper tubing, plastic tubing and electric cable in a neat and orderly manner.
· Becomes fully trained in the safe operation of all power tools, hand tools, and instruments necessary for job completion. Appropriately and correctly wears necessary personal protective equipment and abides by all OSHA safety regulations at all times.
· Does not attempt to perform any task or assignment without previous instruction by a qualified individual and ensures that all installations are performed in a neat, professional, and workman-like manner to the satisfaction of the Project lead. Asks for instruction or guidance before starting any unfamiliar task or assignment.
· Attends and successfully completes the online training (George U) offered by the company through an independent source and continues to attend product training and information seminars/webinars to improve knowledge and skills.
· Reports directly to office at beginning of each day (7:00 am unless specifically changed by Project Lead).
· Maintains a professional appearance, is punctual and generally helpful, and helps in other areas as needed including material delivery and handling.
· Other duties as assigned
· Ability to work at heights and in physically limiting areas and lift loads up to 75 pounds
· Availability to work overtime, varied shift hours, and out of town when needed
