Education:

· Degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering, others considered (B.S. min)

Job Related Capabilities and Responsibilities include:

• Design and develop Kinetic Metallization (KM) equipment used for applying low temperature coatings,
• Operate KM equipment and robots to apply coatings for research and development and customer demonstrations,
• Develop new methods of controlling KM process to improve coating performance, quality, and reduce cost,
• Assemble KM Systems integrated with robots and spray enclosures for installation at customer facilities,
• Evaluate coating properties using in-house SEM and mechanical testing with outsourcing of services,
• Coordinate programming of multi-axis robots integrated with the KM controller software for turnkey process operation of KM Systems,
• Contribute to creating and updating operating manuals and training of customers both through televideo conferencing and on-site visits.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• BS Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering,
• Proficiency with Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Pro Engineer or other CAD/CAM software tools,
• Mechanic and machine shop skills necessary for operating CNC mill and hand tools,
• Creative skills for envisioning innovative mechanical and electromechanical designs.

Communication & Organizational Skills: 

• Communication with scientists, engineers, and management,
• Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work,
• Willingness and ability to periodically travel for equipment installation & training,
• Document preparation including technical manuals,
• Problem solving skills as well as the ability to identify opportunities for improvements.
