Assistant Project Superintendent

About this role

 

Our company is seeking an Assistant Project Superintendent to support our project sites and construction crews. In this role, you will assist the Project Superintendent in overseeing day-to-day construction activities, managing personnel, and ensuring the project’s timely and successful completion.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Superintendent in reviewing and understanding project scope, documents, plans, specifications, and standards.
  • Support the development and maintenance of project schedules.
  • Assist in conducting daily safety meetings and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Assist in preparing daily reports of activities, workers, and inspections.
  • Assist in maintaining a job safety program with a focus on zero accidents or incidents. Lead or participate in daily and weekly safety meetings.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining weekly “Look-Ahead” schedules to ensure the project stays on track.
  • Ensure construction activities adhere to project requirements, focusing on workmanship quality, and contract specifications.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining daily activity reports, including photos and records of inspections, and keeping updated As-Builts on-site.
  • Assist project superintendent in jobsite housekeeping, maintaining site presentable.

 

Schedule: 8-hour shift

Willingness to travel: 100%

License/Certification: Driver’s License (Required)

Experience Required:

  • 1+ years of commercial construction experience, including project planning and management.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage on-site personnel and interface with project stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience in managing project budgets and working with vendors to meet project demands.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to enforce the company’s safety standards.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, building science, civil engineering, or a related field.
