This position is a grant-funded position expected to last for up to seven (7) years. The Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grants support those communities that have undergone a comprehensive local planning process and are ready to implement their “Transformation Plan” to redevelop the neighborhood.

 

Position Specific Summary

The Resident Services Supervisor position at the City of Tucson’s Department of Housing and Community Development is responsible for overseeing and implementing resident service programs that support community well-being and engagement. This role involves coordinating partnerships with community organizations and supporting residents who are relocated or choose to move off-site during the redevelopment process. This is a grant funded position.

 

Work is performed under the supervision of the Community Services Manager. This position exercises supervision over housing personnel.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Manages core service area programs including projects and tracks progress toward program outcomes. Develops and implements pilot programs, tools, and outcome measurements to address resident needs. Uses program data and reporting for quality improvement. Participates in community groups to identify, collect and address unmet resident needs.

 

Expands and coordinates a network of community service providers offering resources to residents. Establishes program schedules, promotes resident participation, and maintains relationships with key stakeholders. Develops partnerships with service providers, community organizations, businesses, and educational institution.

 

Facilitates collaboration between Resident Services, Property Management, and external service providers. Works with redevelopment and relocation teams to educate residents about relocation opportunities, rights, and responsibilities. Ensures maximum re-occupancy of original residents in new or rehabilitated developments.

 

Supervises staff, volunteers, and interns. Evaluates staff performance, provides coaching, and ensures adherence to city policies and procedures. Assigns work, addresses concerns, and mentors staff. Reviews and approved employee time off request.

 

Maintains a resident service caseload, providing case management and service referrals. Promotes resident participation in on-site programs and ensures service needs are met. Conducts on-site educational, wellness, and recreational programs to support resident well-being.

 

Attends staff meetings, trainings, and professional development events as required. Assists residents from other properties as needed.

 

Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.  

 

Working Conditions

Mostly office environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor's degree

Experience

Three (3) years of directly related experience

Equivalency

Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

License/Certifications

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in social work, public health, human services, or similar

Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Two (2) or more years of experience working in government, nonprofit, education, or health programs

Ability in written and spoken English and Spanish
