Project Coordinator for Relationship Outcomes of Child Maltreatment Study
Position Summary: The Project Coordinator at Mt. Hope Family Center will oversee day-to-day activities of a federally funded research investigation including recruitment, data collection, and data management. This research study, funded by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, seeks to extend knowledge on how exposure to child abuse and neglect impacts mental health and well-being throughout the life course and across generations. Study participants are adults initially assessed during childhood, their romantic partners, and their offspring children. The current study will examine the long-term and multigenerational consequences of child maltreatment on intimate partner and parent-child relationships through longitudinal follow-up of these families.
The Project Coordinator will:
- Train and manage a large research team, including full-time post-bac research assistants, graduate students, and undergraduate research assistants;
- Oversee assessment administration with families (adults and children), including semi-structured interviews, surveys, eye tracking measures of emotion processing, computerized assessments of risk taking and executive functioning, and observational paradigms of parent-child and romantic partner conflict and social support interactions;
- Formulate and implement data cleaning, backup, and processing procedures;
- Collaborate with other research personnel (recruitment coordinator and staff) to track recruitment progress, develop recruitment strategies, and ensure the attainment of recruitment goals;
- Develop and revise measures and procedures for data collection and quality assurance;
- Ensure appropriate study documentation in accordance with the IRB, including continuing reviews and modification submissions;
- Report study activities to the PIs and senior research personnel at weekly lab meetings;
- Troubleshoot technical issues with study equipment and software;
- Assist with data collection in the event of staff absences, scheduling conflicts, and other project needs
This is a two-year position and requires the ability and willingness to work weekends and evenings. Applicants should demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be comfortable interacting with children and families from diverse backgrounds. Experience with project/database management and administering standardized developmental assessments is preferred. The position requires accuracy, attention to detail, and personal accountability. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with REDCap, Tobii eye-tracking software, and/or statistical software such as SPSS, are preferred.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or allied discipline
- At least 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
