Direct Support Specialist- 

Inspire MKE is a social service organization that provides Crisis Stabilization, Mentoring, and Skill Development services to youth in the Wraparound Milwaukee network, in Milwaukee, WI. We provide informal counseling, skill-building, and therapeutic services to youth and families with mental health and substance use disorders. We also offer a variety of workshops, emotional support, behavioral support, educational support, and resources for youth and families with mental health disorders.

Responsibilities:

The Direct Support Specialist will work closely with the Clinical Director to provide therapeutic services to youth in need of support. The Direct Support Specialist will work closely with the youth and family team to ensure collaborative efforts are made to assist the youth and family with meeting identified needs and goals specified in their treatment plan. The Direct Support Specialist will be responsible for providing one on one therapeutic services wherever support is needed ie, in the home, school, or community. The Direct Support Specialist will be responsible for engaging youth in preventive services to assist with skill-building that will empower youth to manage their mental health, emotions, and behaviors. The Direct Support Specialist will be responsible for responding to and de-escalating crises as needed for assigned youth. The Direct Support Specialist will be responsible for providing documentation of each interaction reflective of the therapeutic benefit of the services provided. The Direct Support Specialist will be responsible for completing initial training and ongoing training as required.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Services or related field; or Bachelor of Science/ Arts in Human Services or related field preferred; or combination of education and experience.
• Must have at minimum a High School Diploma or GED
• Must have a valid driver's license, vehicle, and auto insurance
• Must pass a background check

Pay: $20 - $30 per hour based on education and experience
