
Manufacturing Process Engineer
Job Summary
The Manufacturing Process Engineer position supports the manufacturing process development activities, manufacturing trouble shooting, repair and rework planning related activities with in the Manufacturing Engineering department.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the efficient manufacture, rework and repair of new and existing components -mainly GEARS
- Creation and maintenance of product definitions, manufacturing 2D sketches, engineering master and other process related documents
- Complete and/or create 3D models, Tolerance stack-up, Gear calculations, Heat treat calculations as well addressing any additional customer specific PO requirements (i.e, FPA, VSE, DVE, etc.).
- Contribute to the efficient manufacture, rework and repair of new and existing components by providing engineering support to shop floor, suppliers, MRB activities, Quality Clinic
- Review and approve engineering changes (i.e, ECR/ECNs/DARs. Etc.) in a timely manor
- Support routine process checking/approving, CNC programming and tool designs efforts to optimize existing and new manufacturing processes
- Liaison with customer, contracts, tooling, and quality representatives on matters concerning concessions, deviations, product definition, tooling, inspection schedule, and corrective actions.
- Assist the shop floor in repair and rework when needed: manufacturing issues that may arise.
- Assure that manufacturing engineering technical data is complete and accurately documented
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as a manufacturing engineer-GEARS
- Aerospace experience preferred
- Complete ability to read & develop engineering drawings with GD&T
- Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment
- Understanding of spur/helical/bevel/spline geometry & nomenclature
- Knowledge of Solid works , ERP systems, and Microsoft Access
- Problem analysis and problem resolution
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Computer proficiency
- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques'
