Secondary Science Teacher
Secondary Science Teacher – Clifton-Fine Central School District
The Clifton-Fine Central School District is seeking a passionate and dynamic Secondary Science Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. We are looking for an educator who can inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for science in students through engaging, standards-based instruction. The ideal candidate will be comfortable teaching a variety of science courses, including Living Environment, Earth Science, Chemistry, or Physics.
Located on the western edge of the Adirondacks and serving as the gateway to the Five Ponds Wilderness Area, Clifton-Fine Central School District is a small, supportive school community committed to providing students with meaningful and rigorous educational experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Teach middle and high school science courses, which may include Living Environment, Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics, or general science electives depending on certification and experience.
- Develop and implement engaging lessons and labs aligned with New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS).
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
- Utilize laboratory experiences, hands-on activities, and technology to support student learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote interdisciplinary learning and student achievement.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, committees, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- New York State Certification in Science (7–12) – Living Environment, Earth Science, Chemistry, or Physics – or eligibility for certification.
- Strong content knowledge and experience teaching secondary-level science.
- Enthusiasm for hands-on learning and real-world scientific applications.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
