GIS Specialist
LOGIS offers its members a comprehensive GIS support solution that includes a suite of managed services to match any combination of GIS service needs, including custom applications and integration, and data and service hosting. LOGIS is seeking a GIS Specialist with strong technical and problem-solving skills, attention to details, and experience supporting the end-users.
Responsibilities include:
- Support users calls relating to GIS, schedule regular visits to each member city to augment their operations through the use of GIS technology; distribute documentation to users of GIS applications supported by LOGIS
- Maintain currency and integrity of spatial and non-spatial GIS data sets as required by GIS member cities
- Perform independent GIS backups; publish and share GIS contents in a cloud environment
- Design, develop, implement and maintain GIS applications in local government environments
- Document new applications and procedures and maintain documentation of existing applications and procedures in accordance with LOGIS standards
- Train local government GIS staff in the use of LOGIS-developed GIS applications
- Provide GIS data and application support to internal departments such as Public Safety, Fiber, building inspections, etc.; collaborate with other staff as a knowledgeable resource about GIS technology and integration
- Maintain a respectful and professional relationship with all member cities’ GIS staff
- Maintain a professional and orderly working environment in the GIS area
- Participate in GIS related professional societies, work groups, committees, and conferences
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Computer Science or a closely related discipline
- Minimum of three years of comprehensive job experience involving the following:
- ArcMap, ArcPro and other Esri GIS products
- Windows Server environment including ASP and IIS
- Esri SDE data structure, access and publications
- Designing and developing GIS applications using ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Municipal or county government working environments and municipal infrastructure
- PC hardware and operating systems
- General knowledge of surveying, mapping and photogrammetric techniques
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship of any kind now or in the future
Desired Qualifications
- Familiar with GIS in public safety/911 application environment, supporting dispatch, records, and crime mapping functions

In addition, we offer a predominantly remote work schedule. Hiring range for this position is $73k-$86k annually. The actual rate of pay offered within this range will depend on several factors, such as skills, knowledge, relevant education and experience.
