Middle School Art Instructor

St. David’s in Raleigh, NC seeks an accomplished art educator to teach Middle School Visual Arts to 5th-8th grade students through insightful, constructive feedback that develops students’ performance skills, artistic abilities, and understanding. The Middle School Art Instructor will plan and deliver engaging art lessons that incorporate various artistic techniques and mediums. They will also plan and implement exhibits throughout the year that showcase student artistic skill development.

Fine Arts teachers have the ability to work collaboratively with their peers to develop and deliver effective lessons that differentiate instruction for a diverse group of learners. The position also involves advising a small group of students throughout the school year and investing in the middle school community through attending athletic events and advising clubs. Additionally, as a member of the Fine Arts department, they will consistently and intentionally communicate the value of a strong Fine Arts education to the school community. They will strive for unity in tone and philosophy, grounded in the school's mission, core values, and the Portrait of a St. David’s Graduate. An ideal candidate is a dynamic, talented, and dedicated individual who inspires students to think critically, reason logically, and express themselves clearly.

Candidates should possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Art, Design, Middle Grades Education, Elementary Education, or a similar field. Ideal candidates will have three or more years’ experience teaching middle school and a Master's degree in education or Art and Design.
