Research Engineer – Molten Material Systems

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Research Engineer to lead the experimental design, execution, and scale-up of our first of its kind, molten material reactor. This role is critical in advancing our technology from proof-of-concept to commercial scalability. You will work cross-functionally alongside our CTO to design experiments, analyze data, and improve performance. In the near term you will be working on maximizing the data acquisition and functionality of a bench scale reactor, which will in turn be used to design a pilot scale reactor.

What’s in it for you?

You’ll be working with a team of smart, creative people who are looking to disrupt legacy producers and change how the US thinks about material production. You will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact on day one. This is a pivotal role within our team, where you will play a crucial part in advancing our first-of-its-kind technology to the next stage (and your equity package would reflect that). If you are driven by innovation and eager to contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions, we encourage you to connect with us.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design and execution of experiments to optimize performance, efficiency, and scalability
  • Lead hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and improvements in design, materials, and operating conditions to determine solutions for tough problems at bench scale and eventually pilot scale
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data to establish conclusions and recommendations
  • Perform engineering design calculations for heat balance, material handling, and process optimization
  • Design, prototype, and procure/fabricate experimental rigs

Required Skills:

  • BS, MS, or PhD in chemical, process, aerospace or mechanical engineering
  • Experience in experimental design and development of molten material or fuel injection processes
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (CAD) and demonstrated ability to build prototypes
  • Demonstrated track record of working on a team to achieve ambitious goals together

If you're driven to create groundbreaking technology and want to be part of something truly transformative, this is your chance. Join us early and grow with enormous upside potential!
