Support Engineer

We're transforming the way that infrastructure-critical data is stored and utilized around the world

BoreDM is the modern standard for subsurface data management—used by state Departments of Transportation (DOTs), top engineering firms, and national labs to accelerate construction, reduce risk, and build more resilient infrastructure. Our software combines powerful data management tools with a beautiful, intuitive interface to help engineers efficiently generate deliverables while passively building invaluable data assets.

Role

We’re hiring a Support Engineer to help troubleshoot and resolve issues for our growing customer base, which includes state DOTs and leading engineering firms. This is a full-stack role with an emphasis on backend problem-solving — especially in Postgres — and a strong customer-facing component. You’ll work directly with users, deployment engineers, and our product team to identify and fix bugs, build small internal tools, and ensure our customers have a smooth experience.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve issues across the stack (frontend, backend, database)
  • Write SQL queries and troubleshoot Postgres performance or data issues
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to understand and solve problems
  • Build internal tooling or lightweight features to improve support workflows
  • Document recurring issues and contribute to support knowledge base

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years of professional experience in software development
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least some React experience
  • Solid grasp of relational databases (Postgres strongly preferred)
  • Strong communicator with a customer-first mindset
  • Comfortable learning quickly and digging into unfamiliar systems

We offer a 401(k) plan and paid holidays, as well as $6,000/yr toward healthcare insurance.
