
Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
About the position
We are seeking School & Based Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA). This role involves supporting students in a school setting under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
Responsibilities
- Implement individual or group therapy sessions targeting specific speech or language goals.
- Help track and document students' progress during therapy sessions, providing feedback to the supervising SLP.
- Assist in creating or preparing therapy materials, visual aids, and resources to support students' learning.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement strategies that facilitate speech and language skills in the classroom.
- Support students with communication challenges in using and maintaining AAC devices.
- Work with students to reinforce therapy goals through home practice activities.
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other documentation.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program in speech therapy.
- Currently registered/licensed in Arizona as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
- Ability to pass and obtain applicable background check and IVP fingerprint clearance for educational settings.
- Must have own laptop.
- Ability to implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the facility.
- Maintain professional working relationships with team members.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information.
- Ability to take feedback well from various stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves
- Pediatric experience is preferred but not required.
