Senior Utilities Engineer - JC-474329
Energy Division / Distribution Planning / Grid Resiliency and Microgrids:
The Energy Division is seeking a Senior Utilities Engineer to join a team of energy professionals working on grid resiliency and microgrids.
The engineer will research, review, analyze, and act as project lead on various topics pertaining to utility regulation, policy development, and ratemaking. The engineer will conduct complex electric policy and technical analyses for decision-makers and Energy Division management and may lead projects working with other analysts or engineers. The engineer may lead or direct work regarding review, research, analysis, and preparation of presentations, reports, resolutions, data requests, legislative bill analyses, letters, and other written and/or oral work products regarding microgrids and grid resiliency, distribution system planning, general rate cases, and other matters pertaining to utility safety and reliability.
The engineer will hold workshops as necessary. The engineer will also prepare briefing materials and give briefings along with recommendations for Commission action to division management and decision-makers. The engineer may need to travel occasionally, such as to other CPUC offices (5% of the time or less).
