ICPC Program Support Specialist (DCFS) Hybrid-Telework Eligible

This position is eligible for working a hybrid-telework schedule.

 

The ICPC Program Support Specialist provides professional support to the ICPC program for DCFS and reports to the ICPC Program Manager/Compact Administrator. They gather, compile, and interpret program related information, prepare and present program related reports, interpret policies and procedures, provide technical assistance to DCFS staff and service providers, and train others in program-related topics.

 

Responsibilities

Acts as a resource for management and staff; providing technical support within the area of responsibility.

Provides instruction to staff, management, clients or the general public regarding ICPC. 

Gathers data, prepares reports, and/or summarizes information related to ICPC.

Analyzes, summarizes, and/or reviews data in order to report findings, interpret results, and/or make recommendations related to ICPC.

Processes ICPC requests from other states, including data entry.

Cross-trains in all areas related to ICPC work.

Serves as a back-up to the ICPC Program Manager.

Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Knowledge of the ICPC and how the program works

Understands applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies and procedures relative to DCFS and ICPC

Understands agency and/or organizational program(s) and how they relate to ICPC

Understands and applies instructional methods and techniques; Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.

Uses logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions related to ICPC

Understands agency and community resources and services

Understands and applies principles, theories, and practices of public administration

Communicates information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing and verbally

Ability to work in a team environment and multitask

Ability to work with a variety of people, both external clients and internal partners in a manner that 

Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation.

Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, cultures and their history and origins.

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating customer satisfaction.

Foundational skills in communicating effectively both verbally and in writing, and dealing with a variety of people in a manner which shows sensitivity, professionalism, and tact.

Are current or previous employees of the Utah Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS)

Are current or previous employees of the Utah Dept. of Health and Human Services (DHHS)

Have professional work experience with Interstate Compact

Supplemental Information

 

 

All DCFS job offers are contingent upon passing a background check. 

Travel required: Must have a valid Utah driver's license. May require you to use to your personal vehicle to perform the duties of this position. All approved mileage driven by using a personal vehicle is reimbursable by State Finance. The reimbursement rate is determined by State Finance.

This position may be eligible to work a hybrid schedule of both in-office and telework days. Please note, a position’s eligibility for hybrid work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.

 

Telework is eligible up to 3 days per week with 2 days required in office. The employee may also be required to attend DCFS/DHHS events. The State of Utah requires all employees to physically work inside the State of Utah Boundaries. Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.


 

 

Physical Requirements

Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.

 

Working Conditions

Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
