Staff Engineer (Civil Strongly Preferred)
Full-time/In-person Staff Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts site inspections on field days, driving to and from locations across the state of Florida.
- Collaborates with Professional Engineering staff to conduct forensic engineering investigations and data collection.
- Utilizes tools and technology to support engineers on site including drone, 3D scanning, mold testing equipment, etc.
- Prepared to acquire necessary licenses/certifications when required including UAV license, home inspector license, mold assessor, etc.
- Assists in preparation of engineering reports as required.
- Carries out other miscellaneous duties as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Relevant college degree a plus
- Ability to work outdoors
- Ability traverse attics, crawlspaces, roof slopes (including steep roofs)
- Ability to travel long distances within the State of Florida
- Driver’s license with good standing record
- Ability to travel overnight on regular intervals
- Must be able to adapt to harsh conditions/environments
- General working knowledge with the Microsoft Office Suite and computers/technology
- Must be proficient with iOS devices/iPhone/Mac
- Organizational and time management skills
- Basic math skills
- Professional appearance
- Good personal hygiene
The candidate should possess exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills. They must demonstrate the ability to work independently or in a team environment. Attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with others is essential. Being a team player, maintaining professionalism, and exhibiting a positive attitude are also important traits required for this role. The candidate must be capable of sitting and standing for extended periods of time. They must be willing and able to work in extreme temperatures, whether hot or cold. Accessing rooftops, attics, and crawlspaces is necessary, and they must be able to reach, grasp, feel, and see objects from both close and far distances. Additionally, the candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
