Quality Engineer
Quality Engineer: We are looking for an entry level mechanical engineer that wants to be hands-on and work collaboratively with engineers and tool makers to solve manufacturing and tooling challenges and ensure the quality of our products. As you learn about our business, you would be expected to pass on knowledge and an understanding of quality requirements and quality disciplines to others.
Requirements: (but willing to train the right candidate)
- Must have valid work permit or U.S. Citizenship
- BA/BS in engineering - mechanical, electro-mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, quality, metallurgy, or equivalent experience
- Enjoy problem solving, getting to the bottom of an issue
- Reading and interpreting prints, GD&T
- Ability to work well alone or in teams, and to collaborate to create solutions
- Willingness to learn, investigate and determine how things work
- Computer literate, CAD or Solidworks skills beneficial
Skills desired or to be acquired on the job:
- Understanding of progressive die tooling
- Reading and Interpreting Prints
- Reliability Principals including SPC, Statistics and DOE analysis
- Metrology: calibration, MSA, inspection techniques, training inspectors with comparators, micrometers, calipers, drop indicators, resolving measurement discrepancies
- Process control including setting up routing, inspection plans, work instructions, change control
- Understanding of material specifications including hardness scales
- Vision systems, CMM programming
- Maintaining an ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 system, including process auditing
- Automotive core tools: FMEAs, Control Plans, PPAPs, MSA
- Environmental regulations such as RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, California Prop 65
- Supplier quality, including auditing
- Lean manufacturing principals, Six Sigma
- Knowledge of TWI training programs
- Understanding of BRC Packaging Standards: experience implementing cGMPs, HACCP, EHHS standards as well as auditing programs
