Sales Associate

Job Summary

Creative, small-but-growing company in the northwest suburbs is adding to its sales team. Primary responsibilities include interfacing with customers by phone and email, preparing quotes and proposals, entering orders, and following up with customer communication.

Our company provides leading products that young people use to pursue their passions in the performing arts. It's a fun, fast-paced environment in which our people get to make a difference in the lives of young musicians and artists.

Job Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, return calls, and respond to customer emails and contact-us forms.
  • Educate customers on products, options, prices, and availability.
  • When appropriate, initiate phone calls and email communication to customers or prospective customers.
  • Prepare quotes and proposals and actively follow up with interested customers to ensure conversion to orders.
  • Maximize opportunity with each customer by presenting and closing additional product lines that would be of benefit to them.
  • Facilitate the finalization of customer order specifications and designs.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Has prior success in sales or a similar type of role, or has a sales career path in mind
  • Writes and speaks well, using proper spelling and grammar. Comfortable on the phone and in video presentations.
  • Enjoys a fast-paced environment (varies seasonally).
  • High attention to detail; accurate, organized.
  • Learns technology quickly and not intimidated by new or complex systems.
  • Experience participating in, or familiarity with, high-school level marching band or colorguard preferred but not required.
