At RPE Solutions, now part of the growing Capstone Integrated Solutions platform, we're building out a larger ecosystem to offer a broader range of services. As we expand further, we're seeking a  RPG Programmer to join our technical team. You will be an integral part of this exciting growth phase, working with advanced iSeries/AS400 technologies and supporting our mission to deliver top-tier technical solutions to our clients.

Work Location: Remote

Preferred Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience in iSeries/AS400 development (internships or hands-on academic projects also considered).
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and RPG programming, with eagerness to grow technical skills.
  • Strong interest in developing expertise in Free Format RPG and enterprise systems.
  • Knowledge of Blue Yonder MMS (versions 4r4–2021) or JDA is a big plus, or willingness to learn it on the job.

Required Candidate Profile:

  • Solid understanding of programming fundamentals and eagerness to learn legacy systems.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
  • Motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about long-term growth in RPG development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining programs using RPG (III, IV, Free Format), CL, and SQLRPGLE.
  • Learn and apply ILE concepts, including procedures and service programs.
  • Work with Query/400 and database objects, including DDS and sub-files.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of libraries within the AS/400 environment.
  • Collaborate on automation using CL programming and OS/400 commands.
  • Write and troubleshoot SQL queries and support FTP data transfers as needed.
  • Provide technical support during testing, deployment, and post-deployment phases.
  • Work closely with senior developers and client teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Gain experience with iSeries Navigator and Integrated File System (IFS).
  • Exposure to JSON and XML formats is helpful.
  • Opportunity to work on projects involving web services, system integration, or modernization.
